Concept Development
Refinement

top fold accentuates diamond pattern
acrylic base allows light to focus on table top

A printed version of my laser-cut file that is hand folded to create the concavity at the top of the shade
Final Lamp

Top folds inward accentuates diamond pattern
Shade easily slides off base for easy light bulb replacement

The final product has an acrylic polygon base and folded paper shade. The shade is shipped in one piece and only needs to be attached at one seam. The laser-cut diamond detailing naturally bends outward when slid down on the base. The top shape is created through five j hook cuts that easily slide together
Laser Cut File
Using Ponoko.com for estimates I was able to simplify the laser cut file and bring the cost of the lamp down without compromising aesthetics
